1. Parrot Society News Magazine – Members receive six full-colour, 52+ page issues per year, that contains club business and informative articles pertaining to parrot aviculture. The PSOA News is recognised in international avicultural circles as a leader in quality society publications. It provides opportunities for you to learn new avicultural skills, knowledge and techniques through its creative and topical educational content. Members can also advertise their birds for sale, wanted or exchange, free of charge in every issue.
2. Conservation Calendar -Each year, members recieve a stunning wall calendar for their visual enjoyment. Additional copies are available for purchase with all funds raised going directly to the Parrot Trust of Australia to support their education, research and conservation projects.
3. General Meeting - In a social setting, we meet bi-monthly to provide members and visitors with educational opportunities presented by local, interstate and invitational guest speakers. An extensive range of avicultural products is also available at our meetings from Parrot Supplies Australia. Visitors are always welcome and encouraged to attend.
4. North Brisbane Bird Sale - We hold an annual bird sale which is one highest quality sales in Queensland. Held at the Caboolture Showgrounds, members can sell their birds direct to the public as well as access a large trade area and veterinary services under one convenient roof.
5. 'Parrots' Convention- Our biennial, international convention features world-class speakers on all aspects of parrot aviculture, conservation, husbandary, enrichment,behaviour and training. Each convention promises to be bigger and better with exceptional educational opportunities scheduled for delegates to enjoy and learn from. This educational event caters for parrot breeders, veterinarians, zookeepers, animal training, pet shop employees and companion parrot owners alike through informative lectures and engaging workshops.
6. Step Up: Parrots & People Learning Together - Held on alternative years to our 'Parrots' conventions, this weekend workshop brings together anyone interested in furthering their knowledge and skill in understanding parrot behaviour and training.
7. Parrot Trust of Australia - Recognising the urgent need to support parrot conservation, research and education in Australia, we have established a public trust to fund worthy projects. Through the generosity of donations, this initiative will grow and develop into a self-sustaining venture that benefits Australia's most vunerable and endangered wild parrot species.
8. Parrot Supplies Australia - Our member's shop has a comprehensive range of avicultural supplies available at very competative prices. Financial members receieve a further substantial discount off their purchases. Australia wide shipping is available on most products while personal orders can be collected direct from our shop.
